ICELAND AIRWAVES 1.-5. NOVEMBER 2017
The Iceland Airwaves Media Center is an indispensable part of the festival. Through the years it has been located at various bars/restaurants in downtown Reykjavík, in walking distance from all the festival venues. This year the Media Center will be at Harpa. The Center is in action from October 30 to November 4.
The opening hours in Harpa Reykjavík are:
Mon 30 Oct – Tue 31 Oct from 12:00 – 18:00
Wed 1 Nov from 12:00 – 00:00
Thu 2 Nov – Sat 4 Nov from 12:00 – 22:00
The opening hours in Hof Akureyri are:
Thu 2 Nov – Fri 3 Nov from 14:00 – 00:00
At the Media Center, festival goers can pick up their festival passes, purchase Iceland Airwaves merch, annoy the staff with weird questions and hook up with other festival goers.
We’re expecting around 7500 eager festival-goers, musicians, press and music industry peeps to our Media Center to pick up their wristbands. It may get super busy at times but we will do our utmost to keep everything running as smooth as possible!
Bring your tix.is or Icelandair voucher, along with a photo ID, to our Media Center. Please note that your photo ID has to match with the name on the voucher/confirmation.You can find our disclaimer here.
Ásgeir is set to play an exclusive show at Eldborg, Harpa at this year’s festival, rounding off what is set to be an even bigger year for the Icelandic sensation. The show will take place at 8 pm on Friday November 3. Tickets for the Eldborg show will be allocated on a first come, first served basis at Harpa on Wednesday November 1 from 4 pm.
Iceland Airwaves is expanding to Akureyri in Northern Iceland for the first time, giving international and local music lovers the opportunity to enjoy the festival in three ways: you can buy a ticket for the whole four day Reykjavík festival or the two day Akureyri festival, or even do a combination of the two, attending 2nd – 3rd November at Akureyri then flying to Reykjavík for the 4th – 5th November. As for just the Akureyri festival across the 2nd – 3rd November, 25 artists from the Reykjavík line-up will be performing in this bustling capital of the North, complete with plenty of Off Venue bands too. So why not try a different version of Iceland Airwaves this year and combine with a trip to Akureyri’s stunning answer to the blue lagoon, spectacular highlands and waterfalls?
Please note the following:
-The Iceland Airwaves Festival Pass (wristband) is valid for all five festival days and grants access to all shows that are part of the festival, subject to venue capacity (except special performances, which cost extra).
-The festival reserves the right to change the line-up of the festival without notice.
-All festival passes are non-refundable.
-In case tickets are purchased and sold with a profit, Iceland Airwaves can cancel the ticket/s without notice and deny the ticket holder access.
-Any promotional use of tickets is prohibited without permission from Iceland Airwaves.
-The minimum age for the festival is 18 years.
