Izleifur is a growing superstar in the Icelandic Hip Hop scene. Starting out as a producer for many of Iceland’s biggest rappers, Izleifur felt he had more to express than he could through his productions. On those grounds, the artist project Izleifur was born.
In early 2024, Izleifur released his highly acclaimed debut album “ÞETTA ER IZLEIFUR” translating to “THIS IS IZLEIFUR”, a true coming of age album where Izleifur explores his upbringing in Iceland’s capitol city Reykjavík and more specifically in the postcode 101. The boiler pot of culture in Iceland.
The album explores themes such as self doubt, depression, young love, heartbreak and even egomania as Izleifur proclaims his arrival in the Icelandic music scene.
Izleifur is not afraid of exposing his feelings to listeners and leaves everything he has in his songs and with much to tell, Izleifur is very productive.
In October 2024, Izleifur released his sophomore album “Ég á móti mér” (Me against myself), only 7 months after his debut album. The album title encapsulates his view on his future path. It is only himself that can stand in his way and he is eager outperform all expectations.
Izleifur is an intimate performer, thriving in small packed rooms, close to the audience.
