Merina Gris is a group made up of three young from Donosti (Sara, Julen and Paskal), al of them with previous experience in the music industry, who decided to join their creative forces in 2020. The project was born from the need to feel represented in the cultural scene that surrounds them, to create a space where they can develop their message in a natural and fluid way.
Merina Gris is creating your site by feeling that you do not belong to anyone at all. The group has as characteristic the anonymity ofthe artists that compose it, with the premise that the “what” prevails over the “who”, that art is valued by its own weight and is not so conditioned by external elements. It also highlights a worked and coherent aesthetic, built together with artists and collaborators who are part of the trio’s social environment, especially in the audiovisual field. As for sound, Merina Gris calls her music “violent pop”, since in her songs the most melodic aspect coexists with the most aggressive.
Al this highlighting the importance of musical production, something that the group has worked on from the first minute. The people from San Sebastian made their debut in October 2020 with their first single, “Besteek Zer”, which was very well received by the public. His popularity was growing as they released more songs like “Saiatzen Naiz”, “90”, “Ez Geratu Azalean” and “Ardi Latxen Herrian” (the latter with the collaboration of Cris Lizarraga, singer of the group Belako). Audiovisual collaborations stand out with people like the singer Izaro, the Goya-winning actor Eneko Sagardoy and the group JMartina, among others. nI March 2021, “Zerua Orain” comes out, first LP from the band. A work produced halfway with the renowned Madrid producer Ed Is Dead, a fundamental partner since the beginning of Merina Gris.
