Of Sunna Margrét’s recently released debut album ‘Finger on Tongue’, The Quietus said “Oddball Icelandic pop packs a dense punch, heavy with ideas”. A fitting description for one of the most intriguing artists to emerge from Iceland in recent years. Drawing from influences such as CAN, Suzanne Ciani and PJ Harvey, Sunna has also been described as “weaving reinvented trip hop” (Electronic Sound Magazine). She’s received enthusiastic support from the likes of KCRW, Under The Radar, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and Soho Radio, additionally hosting an hour long Freak Zone playlist show on BBC 6 Music. As well as featuring prominently in the May issue of Record Collector, enthusing about her favourite sounds and rarities from her extensive vinyl collection. Sunna Margrét played The Great Escape in May 2024, as well as the final LungA Festival in East Iceland.
